At the end of this school year June 2009, the Chicago board of education will end the special education class at West Park Academy. Special needs children are usually forgotten about and sent spiraling to different schools because someone(in a higher power)feels that there is no need for a special education class at their school.
Our children were sent to West Park Academy following the same spiraling pattern. To our surprise the school has an excellent special education program and teacher. Since our children have been in Mrs. Wojewodas' class, they have improved tremendously in their reading, writing, arithmetic and problem solving skills.
Mrs. Wojewoda has turned shy and special needs children into social butterflies.
We the parents of the special needs students at West Park Academy are asking you to sign this petition to keep the special education program at West Park Academy.
We the parents are asking the Chicago public school system to take action for the good of special needs students at West Park Academy. If the Chicago public school don't do this,the Chicago public school system will fail our children.
