This past Monday July 16, 2007 Sierra Entertainment released an announcement saying that as of August 16,2007, it will be shutting down its servers for 20 games including NR2002.
If this happens it will change many friendships, leagues, and limit racers to only racing on IP, which makes it difficult to find new racers.
The NR2002 Servers still have 6 leagues that race on it, and has a great community of other racers also. Keep the Sierra servers online, at least for this game. It's too soon to take them away.

We, the undersigned, call Sierra to keep the NASCAR Racing 2002 Season servers alive.
This game is the most fun stock car simulation to date, and turning off the Sierra servers for NR2002 would kill a community that is still thriving, although smaller in number than it was years ago.
