Ruben Belisle, was abruptly removed from Del Amo Park, in Carson, CA. and transferred to Stevenson Park, in Carson, CA. in the middle of the summer without any prior warning or notification given to the parents or children.
We are petitioning this decision as we believe that Ruben Belisle should remain at Del Amo Park.
We, the undersigned; the parents and residents of Carson, are urging that the City of Carson, Parks and Recreation, leadership, Cedric Hicks, and Arnold Carraway, rescind their decision to remove Ruben Belisle from Del Amo Park in Carson, California, to Stevenson Park in Carson, California as park director. Our reasons are as follows:
1. Ruben Belisle has been a pillar at Del Amo Park for over 32 years;
2. We trust his leadership;
3. Having a change in the middle of the Summer, infringes on the rights of parents to decide what park director they would like to oversee the program for their children;
4. Activities for the children should not be changed, altered or cancelled, it causes insecurity for the children, and distrust as it relates to their summer activities;
5. As parents we should be given prior notice to significant changes as it relates to the care of our children.
