Mr. Robert Jones, Ag Ed teacher & FFA advisor for Lindsay Public Schools tendered his resignation Friday February 27th, 2015 following an incident in the classroom that occurred the previous Tuesday and a subsequent suspension.
We feel the punishment was a miscarriage of justice. The incident was taken out of context, blown out of proportion & thereby escalated to the point of resignation.
This punishment doesn't fit the crime & due to the schools extreme action our district stands to lose a very valuable asset. A man who has had a tremendous positive impact on countless students & changed lives for the better, who was recognized at the state level for mentoring, may be removed from the classroom for mistaken horseplay.
We need to rectify this situation & let our school board & administration know how we feel.
We, the undersigned, call on the administration and school board of Lindsay Public Schools to reinstate Mr. Robert Jones to his position or rescind his resignation.
