Recently, at the two-day event known as Electric Daisy Carnival, there was an unexpected and tragic death of one of its party goers. It has been purposed by Zev Yaroslavsky, Los Angeles County Supervisor, that this combined with roughly 120 omitted to the hospital that also attended created chaos and a complete break down of public safety.

The total attending the event reached 185,000 making that figure just 0.06% needing hospitalization for mostly minor injuries such as dehydration.

In a hasty and brash reactionary move, he has called for a moratorium “to any individual or company that promotes raves” who wish to book the Coliseum for future events.

In response Coliseum Commission President Barry Sanders has placed a temporary moratorium until a special meeting is convened to discuss the issues further.

On Friday, July 16th, there will be a city council meeting to discuss whether this ban should be extended.

By signing this petition you will be showing your support for the electronic music movement and ensure its rightful home among L.A's culture.

We, the undersigned, express our concern over the ban suggested of electronic music festivals at the L.A Coliseum. We feel this decision ostracizes an entire community of people that enjoy electronic music in a peaceful, happy way.

Judging an entire culture based on the actions of an extremely small percentage without careful considerations of factual information will only serve to encourage the negative stereotype already attributed to this group of people, who by in large are nothing but peaceful, loving, and respectful.

Thank you for your time and careful consideration.
