Karo-Kari to be made Non-Compoundable Homocide

Petition Background (Preamble):
Karo-Kari is a heinous crime. It happens when family member or husband suspect a woman of illicit relations. In order to 'preserve' their family honour the woman is killed.
In most cases the accusers have little evidence to support their allegations. Since it is usually a husband, brother, father, cousin or uncle who carry out the deed the victim's family forgives the guilty party upon receiving 'blood money' and the perpetrator receives a short prison sentence.
If this is made Non-compoundable Homocide then it means that such compromises cannot be reached. Honour Killings occur in various parts of the world: India, the Middle East, the Americas, Europe and Africa.

We, the undersigned, call on the Government of Pakistan to treat Karo-Kari/Honour Killings as a non-compoundable offence whose perpetrators be charged and prosecuted under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
