On March 18, 1980 in Cleveland, Ohio, Carl E. Spencer, brutally murdered 19 year old Sharon (Fish) Skowronsky. This animal came into Sharon's home and and with an unknown object hit her on the head from behind. As she dropped to her knees, Carl Spencer came up tight behind her, put his hand over her mouth and while supporting her dazed body, stabbed Sharon at least 10 times. Sharon sustained 7 stab wounds to her torso, 3 on her arms and as she tried to fight for her life and ward off Spencer's cowardly attack from behind, cuts on her right hand.
Sharon's will to live was strong, but she was dazed and getting weaker, her new baby lay in the other room. Like any mother would do, she fought to live..... with every last breath. At this moment, this coward, this animal, Carl E. Spencer, took his knife and from behind cut Sharon's throat to seal her fate, death.
Spencer eventually was caught. The evidence against him was so overwhelming that he plead guilty (apparently to avoid a death sentence) to the crime and received 15 years to life, looking for jail to save him from what should have been his fate, death by execution.
Spencer has come up for parole four times so far.
Each time Sharon's family and friends have had to relive all the tears, the pain, the fears, and the anger of that fateful day in 1980 because to remember Sharon, the mother, the daughter, the friend, they all have plead with the Ohio Parole Board to deny his parole and keep him in jail every time his parole comes up for consideration.
So far the board has agreed: what a brutal murder Spencer committed when he took Sharon's life, that Spencer has never shown any remorse in all these years for the crime he committed and that he has made threats against Sharon's family and friends if he ever "got out". Carl E. Spencer will come up again for parole in June, 2015. We are asking your help to keep Sharon's murderer in jail for the rest of his natural life (if possible). Sharon's son grew up without his mother, her mom and dad have spent all these years without a daughter to love, cherish and have fond memories with, her husband lost his wife and all her friends lost a wonderful friend. She cannot return to us.
The pain of her death has scarred many. In the name of Justice, please sign our petition to keep a cold blooded muderer in jail where he belongs and help us to "Remember the Memory of Sharon".
We, the undersigned, ask that when the Ohio Parole Board hears Carl E. Spencer's (inmate number A162275) request for release in 2014-15, that they deny his request and continue his incarceration for at least another 15 years (or for the rest of his natural life if possible) for the heinous brutal murder of Sharon Skowronsky that he committed and to insure the safety of her family and friends (if he were to be released and allowed to harm them).
