Our son & brother, Perry James King has been wrongfully convicted in a Cuban prison where he has spent the past five years fighting for his freedom.
Last week Stockwell Day sent Perry a letter dated June 15, 2007, denying his application to return to Canada stating that he is a threat to the security of Canadians. One would feel as we do, denials would be saved for terrorists, organized crime, gang members and people who have committed multiple murders.
Perry, other than this one conviction in Cuba in which he steadfastly has maintained his innocence, has an unblemished past and is known by all who know him as a hardworking and caring man who has much compassion for humankind.
MOST IMPORTANTLY he is a born and raised Canadian citizen.
THE ISSUE IS NOT GUILT OR INNOCENCE OR WRONGFULLY ACCUSED BUT DENYING HIM THE RIGHT TO BE BROUGHT BACK TO CANADA.
He has spent the last five years there so PLEASE HELP US FIGHT THIS RULING TO BRING PERRY BACK TO CANADA.
We, the undersigned, call on the Canadian Government to allow Perry King his transfer back into Canada.
