I had to fly back and forth from the US to Switzerland, to be with my fiance, only allowed a 3 mos visa at a time. I've flown with my dog several times on Delta/KLM, because I could not leave her, she is my baby. The last time we flew to Europe, all was fine. But, when I called to confirm our flight back to the US a day 1/2 before leaving, they said they would not fly her. They had changed their dog policy, BUT did not notify me.
I had to leave her in CH. Our worlds were turned upside down. Her security was shot to hell and she was bounced around from being left alone, being left in the back of his car to be picked up and boarded.
We had to expedite our marriage and I had NO family or friends there, because we had to rush it so I could stay in the country and not leave her again.
Delta made no effort to bring her back to the US. They wanted me to pay $1000's of dollars, up to $5,7000 to have her brought back by cargo, one way. But, never assured me that I would be compensated.
We are in litigation for damages incurred. I was sick every single day, trying to deal with this and was still recovering from a broken back. I get sick every time I think of all this.
I am not a money grubber and plan for some percentage to go the American Bulldog rescue that saved her and to our local rescue here in CH.
