JUSTICE FOR f(x)

As we know, f(x) is a K-pop girlgroup which consists of five members (Victoria Song, Amber J. Liu, Luna Park, Sulli Choi, Krystal Jung), formed by S.M. Entertainment. The group is renowned for their unique, not-too-girly concept. Introduced as an “Asia’s Pop Dance Group”, f(x) has grabbed numerous non-K-pop fans’ attention from various parts of the world for their unconventional music style. The number of fans keeps increasing every year, which mostly come from outside of South Korea (China, Japan, and International).

Now, it’s been five years from f(x)’s first debut in 2009. The group has made lots of achievements, such as:
• Winning 19 music shows awards (Inkigayo, M!Countdown, Music Bank, Show Champion)
• Winning nine major awards (Bugs Music Awards, Cyworld Digital Music Awards, Golden Disk Awards, Korean Music Awards, Melon Music Awards, Mnet 20’s Choice, Seoul Music Awards)
• Taking over music charts (Mnet, Olleh, Genie, Bugs, Daum, Naver, Soribada, Melon, Monkey, Billboard, etc.)
• Proving global interest with their album selling (their third album Red Light ranked number one on the weekly album sales charts of Hanteo Chart and Sinnara Records)
• Pink Tape ranked #21 on U.S. Top Hotseekers Albums and #1 on Billboard’s World Albums Chart.
• Pink Tape ranked #22 on American music channel "Fuse TV"-"the 41 best album of 2013 ". It is the only K-pop album that made it into the chart.
• Winning “Overseas Outstanding Stage Performance Award” in Top Chinese Music Awards 2014.

With such accomplishment, it is so surprising that f(x):

1. Haven’t had their OFFICIAL FANDOM
Official fandom significantly unites fans in order to gather supports for the group and among the fans themselves. Having official fandom can create a barricade to protect from rumors, haters, bashers, and antifans, both for f(x) and the fans, which can improve a harmonious relationship between the group and their fans. Official fandom can maintain fans’ loyalty and endurance, which can give a direct impact to the sales and benefits to the label.

2. Haven’t given any chance to hold their SOLO CONCERT
For a five-years-old group with International reputation, all of us are wondering why S.M. has not given any chance to f(x) having their own concert. Instead, S.M. Entertainment keeps involving them in joined-concerts, without any specific reasons.

3. Have a SHORT PERIOD of TIME for album promotion
When f(x) received GDA in 2014, in her speech, Amber stated about how short their Pink Tape album promotion time was. While during Red Light album promotion, Krystal, Luna, and Victoria mentioned that they would have longer promo time now, with various activities. A week after that, all f(x) promo activities were gone from their schedule and left all fans with many speculations. Then, S.M. announced about Sulli’s hiatus due to negative and hating comments targetted to her and f(x)’s three-weeks-only promotion, which followed by members’ individual activities. f(x) recorded for music shows for just two weeks. They were filmed for KBS’s Global Request Show: A Song For You and The Ultimate Group only. The members had photoshoots for two magazines (High Cut and The Celebrity). No variety shows. No radio shows. Sulli’s conditions is probably one of the reasons. But during Amber’s absence in 2010, the other four members continued to promote Nu ABO. Hence, the main reason should be stronger than what S.M. had confirmed.

4. Supposed to have their debut in Japan as promised, but there is no sign of realization from S.M.

5. Doing lots of individual activities rather than GROUP ACTIVITIES
Individual activities are good in terms of improving the idol’s skills and supporting group’s promotion. Nowadays, with most f(x)’s schedules were canceled, the members have no choice but concentrating on their solo activities. Though it is fun to see them individually, f(x)'s true existence is as a group.

In place, it is unbelievable that S.M. gives more opportunities to the group that debuted years after f(x) to have their official fandom, solo concert, and longer promotion time. Plus, promising the fans, f(x) still have their chance to do their overseas promotion, now S.M. canceled all f(x) schedule including 2014 Ulsan Summer Festival and Samsung Music Festival in Nanjing in this August. As f(fans), we had been thinking positively and hoping so much for their comeback this year. But, again, S.M. turned us down.

Our nameless fandom is accused for “being overly jealous to a more succesful group” and “hating a new debut group.” Haters and bashers call f(x) “has no future.” Most of us are devastating and confused, don’t have any idea of what is actually going on. Some fans feel frustrated and express their emotions everywhere. Blaming here and there. Swearing here and there.

We can no longer accept this treatment. FIVE YEARS IS ENOUGH!

Through this petition, let’s UNITE and MAKE SOME NOISE. DO NOT LET SM IGNORE OUR DEMAND ONCE MORE!! SHOUT IT OUT!!!

UNITE and spread peaceful message that we don’t hate anyone. We simply want JUSTICE for f(x).
