In July 2011, 22-year-old Andrea Wilmot was stabbed 20 times by a former co-worker, against whom she had a restraining order.

Andrea's cries for help were heard by her family who rushed to help her, and her attacker fled. After extensive surgery to repair her wounds and a shattered neck vertebrae, Andrea faces a long physical and emotional recovery.

Under the current RI good time law, her attacker would earn 10 days off of his prison sentence for every month of good behavior. A proposed change in this law would eliminate good behavior credits for convicted murderers and sex offenders, but a conviction for attempted murder would still earn good time credit.

Sign this petition to let RI lawmakers know that attempted murderers should not be allowed to earn good time credit simply because their victims survived.
