On the first Tuesday in November of 2009, New Jersey residents will be electing its leaders in state government. Among those offices up for election will be, for the first time in state history, the position of Lieutenant Governor.

The troubling situations of past and the inordinate amount of power that was granted to those who have assumed the title of Acting Governor, have shown the need for the new position.

As such, we, the Republicans of New Jersey call upon the Republican nominee for Governor to select State Senator Jennifer Beck as their running mate and our nominee for Lieutenant Governor.

Senator Beck has demonstrated the vision, sincerity, dedication and judgment that we the people of New Jersey appreciate, trust and need.

If for any reason the governance of New Jersey should fall into the hands of the Lieutenant Governor, we would feel quite comfortable and confident if it were Senator Beck’s hands that the responsibility fell into.

Furthermore; as stated in the state constitution, the duly elected Governor of New Jersey can also appoint the Lieutenant Governor to any cabinet position, other than Attorney General, and as such, we the people of New Jersey have great confidence in Senator Beck’s ability to excel in any cabinet level responsibilities given to her as Lieutenant Governor.

Senator Beck has demonstrated great conviction for our Republican principles.

Throughout her service in the state legislator, she has shown a superior ability to implement those principles and implement them in to the practical application of government.

Additionally, Senator Beck has proven herself to be a highly efficient, diligent and persuasive candidate whose presence on the Republican ticket will help to convey our parties understanding of the needs of New Jersey’s citizens, and our message of opportunity, prosperity and fiscal responsibility.

We therefore, unequivocally, declare our support for State Senator Jennifer Beck’s nomination as the Republican candidate for Lieutenant Governor.

In choosing someone other than Senator Beck as their running mate and our candidate for Lieutenant Governor, the Republican gubernatorial nominee will be demonstrating a severe lack of judgment and an obvious inability to select those best for the jobs that the new Governor will need to recruit for the benefit of us all during their time in office. Such a lack in judgment will not only be discouraging to fellow Republicans but to all the people of the Garden State who must endure the ensuing results of leadership that is as ill equipped for the job as the current administration has proven to be.

Therefore, we, the grassroots of the Garden State’s Republican party, hereby strongly urge that State Senator Beck be placed on the Republican ticket as our nominee for Lieutenant Governor. Her presence on the ticket will energize Republicans and appeal to many disenchanted Democrats as well as the very large and important independent voting block in New Jersey.

So be it resolved that we, the undersigned, call upon the Republican party's nominee for Governor to select State Senator Jennifer Beck as their running mate and our nominee for Lieutenant Governor of New Jersey in the November elections of 2009.

We further resolve, that the Republican nominee for Governor select State Senator Beck as their Lieutenant Gubernatorial running mate, well before the constitutionally required 30 day time period that extends out from the from the day that they have won the nomination.
