May 14, 2008 - We the family, friends, and citizens of Reno County, Kansas strongly believe that Javier, Marcos, Gabriela Jaquez have been done injustice for their arrests and allegations of aggravated kidnapping and having a bond set at $75,000.00.
Javier, Marcos, and Gabriela reside in Hutchinson, Kansas and have been outstanding law abiding citizens. Javier has been a resident of Hutchinson since 1991 and has maintained a job for the same company since 1998. Gabriela as attended Hutchinson Public schools from elementary school to now being a graduate of Hutchinson High School. Not being able to make bail or given a temporary release from jail Gabriela had to miss graduating with her classmates.
Gabriela has applied to colleges for this fall. And Marcos only living in Hutchinson for a year maintained the same job for most of that year. Javier, Marcos, and Gabriela do not have a past criminal record, they just want to resume a life with their family and pursue their obligations to employers.
They have been accused of a crime they did not do and given time the evidence will prevail.
We the undersigned are extremely concerned that a terrible injustice has been done to the Jaquez family.
We strongly believe in their innocence and that in the interest of truth and justice the State of Kansas will vacate the allegations of aggravated kidnapping and/or reduce or dismiss their bail bond set at $75,000.00.
