The control on food safety and food adulteration in Lebanon is almost neglegible. This is leading to major food and health problems. It is mainly because duties and control is divided among many government bodies and baladiyat. It is time to have one control body, the same as in USA and lately in Saudi Arabia. This body will have full control on raw materials and process so that we will be having safe foid for us and our children.
I, as a Lebanese, support Mr. Samer Harb (the first Lebanese Food Certified scientist in the world), for the call to the Lebanese President to initiate the Lebanese Food & Drug Administration (LFDA) to control food safety in Lebanon.
