At http://www.creativerealizations.com/socialissues/SupportLetterForInsite.pdf is a letter written by Anne O'Neil on July 9, 2008 to Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper supporting Insite, Vancouver's safe injection health facility.
Insite has been open since 2003. It is a successful pilot project providing basic health care for drug users.
This letter outlines the success of, and extensive support behind, Insite, and asks the Canadian Federal Government to:
(1) accept the recent BC Supreme Court decision supporting Insite;
(2) accept the results of the studies to date, all of which support the work Insite does; and
(3) expand the provision of safe injection sites to ensure access to basic health care by all Canadian citizens.

We, the undersigned, ask the Government of Canada to take this opportunity to demonstrate leadership in providing much needed basic health care for people struggling with addictions.
