Petition Air lines Decrease In luggage Allowance Has The Potential To Destroy Jamaica's Tourist Industry

Background (Preamble):
We have contention with the fact that Virgin Atlantic, British Airways and Thomas Cook, among other airlines, have colluded to decrease luggage allowance of Tourist and Jamaicans flying to jamaica to only 20-22kg. This is unfair, as it is interesting to note that persons using the same airlines travelling to Africa are allowed more than 40kg on their long-haul flights which are of a shorter duration than ours.
Also, it is quite interesting to note that the restriction is not linked to safety because a Jamaican travelling home is allowed to carry additional luggage at extortionate rates.

Petition:
Tourist and Jamaicans flying to and from Jamaica are disgruntled about the treatment dished out to Passengers when travelling to Jamaica by airlines.
Passengers have contention with the fact that British Air Ways ,Virgin Atlantic , Thomas Cook and Carribbean Air Lines, among other airlines, have colluded to reduce the luggage allowance of Tourist and Jamaicans flying to Jamaica to only 20-22kg. This is unfair, as it is interesting to note that persons using the same airlines travelling to Africa are allowed over 45kg on their long-haul flights which are of a shorter duration tha travelling to Jamaica .
Also, the restriction is not linked to safety because a Passenger travelling to Jamaica is allowed to carry additional luggage at 'extortionate' rates which most can't afford, especially if travelling with small children or in the case of an ill person travelling with medical equipment or a person travelling to Jamaica for an extended duration .
Passengers are reported to be paying sums in excess of £170.00 for overweight .This is crucial as this is taking away from the money that tourist in particular would spend in Jamaica as our economy is heavily dependent on money generated from tourism .Tourist are reported to be bitterly disgruntled about these charges.They feel that travelling to Jamaica is becoming too expensive and are reported to be considering Europe and other parts of the world as an option for holidays as it cost less.
We passengers flying to and from Jamaica ( Tourist and Jamaicans )call upon all Airlines traveliing to Jamaica to increase our luggage allowance to 45Kg and to change your unfriendly policies towards Jamaicans and Tourist Travelling to Jamaica .
