IMO STATE UNIVERSITY; KEEP THE ORIGINAL PERMANENT SITE AT ABOH MABAISE/NGOR OKPALA

In 1981, the then Governor of the old Imo State, Sam Mbakwe established with an act of Imo state parliament, a multi-campus university modelled after the university of Nebraska in the United States of America. Each of the existing senatorial districts then was allocated a campus of the university, with the main campus located in the State capital, Owerri in Owerri senatorial district.

The site at Aboh/Ngor Okpala was then chosen. The immediate past govt. of Ohakim affirmed this site.
The present legislature passed a 4-year rolling budget appropriating money for the construction of the permanent site of IMSU at Aboh/Ngor Okpala, a Federal Constituency as well as integeral parts of Owerri Senatorial District, the entity originally chosen by the Mbakwe administration and subsequently affirmed by successive administrations of the state.

Now the current Governor Rochas Okorocha of his own dictatorial fiat, sans any due process, has commenced efforts to relocate the permanent main campus site to, of all places, his hometown in Ideato south in Orlu senatorial district. This is a classic case of ROBBING PETER TO PAY PAUL.
