Target:
Iain Duncan Smith, Department for Working Pensions
Region:
United Kingdom

Iain Duncan Smith has denied challenging himself to live on a budget of £53 a week and insists he will not and that he has experienced living life on the 'breadline'.

Did he have other responsibilities then too? Bills, mortgage, health prescriptions to pay? Has he ever gone without electricity?

Your not in this for everyone but for some members in society. Are others not seen as valuable people in society Mr Smith?

The standard of living is much higher now to when he claimed to have lived on this 'breadline' so no Mr Smith today's 'breadline' is no way near the same experience to yours!! It is not bad enough they have How insulting is this?

He backs the welfare reforms as he believes they are a must in helping people back to work but according to the National statistics there are 2.5 million people who are actively seeking work.

If he had experience this has he forgotten what it was like? Where is his empathy at a time when many human beings are struggling for survival?

It's hard enough to accept these new welfare reforms in place but to come out and say you know what it's like irrelevant and no comparisons at all!

An apology for these insensitive remarks and a new minister should be appointed, one who is not bias and sees everyone as equal human beings!

Iain Duncan Smith's has spoken out and claims to have once lived on a 'breadline'. It is difficult to fully believe if this is exact true as he has not been fully honest about his educational background as the BBC has found.

The fact he has come out and said this at a time like this is completely unnecessary and INSULTING as remember Mr Smith the economy and the standard of living has gone up since your experience on the 'breadline'!

Is it not bad enough to be faced with the sudden changes to welfare and yet you come out with this claim? You do not know what it is like? To worry? to struggle? The uncertainty of the future? Where has your empathy gone?

If you did live on the 'breadline' have you not gained anything from this? The welfare reforms you believe are needed to get people back into the labour market but you have taken stripped us suddenly without providing us with any stability of employment and INCOME!!

An apology for these insensitive remarks and a new minister should be appointed, one who is not bias and sees everyone as equal human beings!
