It is a fact that the brutal terrorist organisation; the LTTE which represented the arm wing of the separatist agenda was comprehensively defeated. However the political forces that represent the imperialist separatist agenda are still active in many fronts.

The main driving force behind this separatist agenda is western neocolonialism. The Ban-Ki-Moon's so called report is a classic example. Therefore all the patriotic Sri Lankans need to understand the ongoing threat by such forces and act to defeat it.

Mr. Ban Ki-Moon
The Secretary General
United Nations Organisation (headquarters)
1st Ave & E 44th St
New York, NY 10017

Dear Sir

We consider the appointment of the Sri Lanka – Panel of Experts and the release of the so called ‘report’ as an unwarranted and unnecessary interference with a sovereign nation. In our opinion and understanding the UN Secretary General Mr. Ban Ki-moon had no authority to appoint an ‘expert advisor panel’ or release a report against a sovereign country without the approval of the Security Council.

The UN Charter provides that the Secretary General shall perform such functions as are entrusted to him by the General Assembly, the Security Council and other subsidiary bodies such as the Human Rights Council, but lacks authority to act in such matters on his own. In fact, Sri Lanka’s human rights issues have been dealt with appropriately by the international community in June 2009 at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva where the members decided in a 29 to 12 vote to not intervene in Sri Lanka’s internal issues.

We consider this as abuse of power to frame allegations of war crimes against our country, based on vested interests of certain political powers.

Therefore we demand the UN Secretary General to stop interfering with internal affairs and to respect our sovereignty.
