The initiation of trapping and euthanizing feral cats is seen as cruel and inhumane treatment of these animals.
The undersigned are opposed to this plan in dealing with the feral-cat population in Herkimer New York.
Other alternatives, such as TNR (trap-neuter-release) provide a better means of keeping the population under control while allowing these wild animals to live on in peace.
We the undersigned request the village of Herkimer to ban and desist from killing feral cats.
With funding on the horizon via NYS legislation, TNR (trap-neuter-release) would be the best and most humane method of dealing with these wild animals. It would also lead to the lowering of costs in dealing with the feral population.
