In May 2013, the Liberian Health Initiative donated over 300 modern nursing and healthcare textbooks to a rural community college. During the visit, we also visited 4 elementary schools where we observed students sitting on dirt floors or stools brought from home.
This image was so powerful that we at LHI vowed to seek every means to help lift these children off the dirt floor and onto a solid desk that will be comfortable to support their education ambition. Take a moment and picture your child sitting on bare floor covered in dust and dirt. All they want is to learn regardless of the condition of the classroom. In this 21st century, we can do better. Help raise a child from the dirt floor and help change a life.
Having watch Lawrence O'Donnell on MSNBC's Last Word and seen his effort to bring desk to the kids of Malawi through the KIND Campaign, we need your help to petition Mr. O'Donnell to extend the KIND Campaign to Liberia.
We believe, like in Malawi, this campaign can help provide jobs for the local people while changing the lives of young children seeking education to better their future and our world.
