Background (Preamble):
I have heard many people saying that Sam Raimi is going to direct 'The Hobbit', a prequel to Peter Jackson's 'The Lord of the Rings' trilogy. 'Spider-Man 4' is almost confirmed to happen, but Sam won't be directing if he does ' Hobbit'.
On IMDB, a site about movies, many on 'Spider-Man 3's message board believe that without Raimi, 'Spidey 4' will fail tremendously. Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst (stars in the 'Spider-Man' films) say they will not return if Sam does not direct again.
If what is true to popular belief, the film will utterly flop without any of them.
