Harsher Punishment for Animal Cruelty

Unfortunately animals can't speak for themselves, so it's up to us to talk for them. Many people use animals for entertainment or they just torture them, and its been going on for so long that people don't think about it as much. That's why I think people should have a harsher punishment for animal cruelty charges.

For example, the dog races that everyone loves so much, not as nice as they seem. Up to 50,000 greyhounds a year are killed or sent to experimentation when they are no longer profitable for the racing industry. At marine parks such as Seaworld, orcas and dolphins only live 25% of their normal life expectancy. Also at rodeos, more than 40,000 bulls are killed every year around the world in bloody bull fights.

There are also cases you hear of that involve common animal, such as cats or dogs. Neglect,abuse, and fights are all cases of animal cruelty. Animal neglect may not seem as horrid as the other cases, but it still causes extreme pain to the animal. Dehydration,lack of feeding, and proper bathing can cause the collar bone to grow into the animals skin.

Fighting is when they train the animals to fight each other for the owners profit or entertainment. Not only dogs fight, roosters also have many serious fighting cases.

When you hear about this or see this you automatically want to click off the page or change the channel, but we have to stand up for animals rights. So I believe that people with animal cruelty charges against them should have to face harsher punishment.
