The wreck that occurred on July 30, 2009 in front of the park I believe opened alot of people's eyes on how easily one of our kids could have been injured if a vehicle came over the hill.
Here is the story on what happened....
A man driving a black car came flying down the road in the middle of a rainstorm and he hydroplaned. He hit the phone line pole that's on the hill in front of the park. If he wouldn't have hit the pole he would have come over that hill into the field where people were walking, parents and around 100 football players and cheerleaders were!
We, the undersigned, call on the Boone County Department of Highways to get a guard rail put up in front of the Racine Park.
The entire park is open to a vehicle coming off the road and hitting someone in the park.
Please help keep the children and everyone that enjoys the park and walking track safe.
