Support grandparents' rights for visitations

Something needs to change for grandparents that long to have a relationship with there grandchildren. I am not saying take away the rights of the parents, but lets band together so that grandparents like I who just want to spend quality time and be able to be a part of their grandchildren's lives just to love them and show that we care. This should be granted to us because we are there upper generation, the link that holds history in their lives. We should be allowed to cuddle, love, hold and hug them without having to fight against a parent just because they don't want you in there lives.

Unless there is a good reason like ABUSE, NEGLECT, OR MEDDLING; then I don't see a reason for a grandparent to be denied rights to see there grandchildren. I don't know what happened to the law or why as grandparents we have no rights at all, but I am looking for a way to change this law once and for all.

I have grandchildren who are suffering because they miss my husband and I terribly and yet all I can do is keep fighting to see them. We as grandparents provide alot for our grandchildren now a days. I don't know about anyone else, but I have bought all there clothes,shoes, boots, jackets. I have played Santa for the last 7 yrs of there lives, took them for hikes, movies, dinner, zoo, to the fairs and yet just because one parent doesn't have anything to do with the father of the children; then I must suffer the cost of my grandchildren. That is so not fair.

Please if you are a grandmother just like me who just wants to love and spend time with your grandchildren, then please sign this petition and lets get back our rights as grand- PARENTS to be established here in NYS or whatever state you live in that does not support rights for grandparents.
