On Jan. 2, 2016 an armed group occupied the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge illegally to protest federal land use policies. Other groups have tried to use the refuge, such as bird watching groups and other environmentalists, but have been met by armed militants. The local people of Burns, OR. have told these militants that they aren't wanted but they refuse to leave.
This petition is to ask President Obama to have the military remove the militants and arrest them for destroying government property.
The refuge is for all of the American people and should stay in national government control.
We, the undersigned, call on the federal government to remove, by force, the militants from the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.
We, the people of the United States, want this done immediately.
