After a long battle with Cancer, (cholangiocarcinoma - a very rare and aggressive form of cancer) on January 3, 2013 my sister Lindsey was given a terminal prognosis. This was a shock unparalleled in Lindsey's life so far.
I don't know if maybe she had been somewhere secretly preparing for this news, but she has been amazing. I mean, she has been scared witless, but she has said, "I am not going down like this." She is going to live her life to the fullest measure possible. This is not a Bucket List. After all she says, Bucket Lists are for old people. She just wants to go to the Ellen show, and laugh, and go from there. She is ready to face the unthinkable. She is ready to plow through it, with a little help from her friends.
Help me get my sister to the show. We don't need a segment on her. We don't need a gift basket or a giant check. She just wants to come, and laugh, and dance, and see the show for what it is, that heart-warming, joy-spreading hour of tv that she DVRs every day to watch when she gets home from work.
We, the undersigned, humbly ask Ellen Degeneres to invite Lindsey Fortney to The Ellen Show to fulfill her lifelong dream and just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep swimming swimming swimming.
