The value of the NJROTC is well established. The Jefferson community will greatly benefit when students have access to a program like NJROTC.
If the program ends this year, Jefferson cannot reestablish it in the future.
Furthermore, the school needs a Liaison Officer to help protect and maintain an environment that promotes good education.
We, the home owner residents and registered voters of the Jefferson district in Monroe, Michigan, direct the Board of Education to fully fund the NJROTC program.
We further direct the Board to also reinstate funding for the Liaison Officer position.
We petitioning support for a 3-year, homestead millage increase equal to 0.6 mill (just over 1/2 a mill), specifically for funding these two important programs at Jefferson High School.
