Walking canes have a major role in the lifespan of persons with walking disabilities. Yet, walking canes and the ergonomics in the 'use of' it has yet to be a mainstream issue.
Walking canes, if not custom-fitted to an individuals specific needs, can, in fact, be the cause of further disabling conditions. EX; if too short, further back problems could afflict a tall person bending excessively to keep hold of the cane. The walking cane is a device used to help walking impaired have a better quality of life... in their lifespan ~

We, not by our own choice or desire, but because of walking impairment and special need of walking canes, call on Walking Disabilities & Special Needs Organizations to better educate/instruct on 'use of' & ergonomics of walking canes.
It's vitally important that our individual needs, ie; height, left/right hand, children-sized, palm grip, etc. Depending on & expecting our walking cane to serve us with better quality living.. .not to afflict us causing further physical injury due to improper sizing.
