The PDSA Gold Medal is an animal bravery award that acknowledges the bravery and devotion to duty of animals and is now recognised as the animal equivalent of the George Cross.
The bravery of the Greater Manchester Police dogs in dealing with the hordes of Huns on the night of the 14/15 May shold be fully recognised.
We, the undersigned, call upon the PDSA to award its Gold Medal to the dogs of the Greater Manchester Police force for outstanding bravery in dealing with thousands of rampaging Rangers suporters on the night of the 14/15 May 2008.
As a result of their bravery major civil disturbance and the loss of life was prevented.
