Fardin Muradpour

فردین مرادپور فعال مدنی آذربایجان در پی بازداشت در روز 1 خرداد 1388 در پارک ائل گولی تبریز به اتهام تبلیغ علیه نظام و تبانی برای برهم زدن نظم عمومی با حکم 6 سال حبس تعزیری محکوم شده بود که از روز 23 خرداد 1389 در زندان مرکزی تبریز برای سپری کردن حکم خود به سر می برد. وی در مدت بیش از 2 سال حضور خود در زندان از مرخصی و سایر حقوق زندانیان محروم بوده است

A summary of Fardin Moradpour’s case:

Fardin was born on 24.03.1990 in Tabriz. On 2009, 05, 22, participating in Shahgoli’s public walking /jugging event and anniversary of “Azerbaijan’s people’s protest to Iranian government on 2oo6 “ because of saying slogans in defense of Mother tongue rights was twice shot . then although injured, was captured by Iranian ministry of intelligence’s officers and brought to Shahid Mahallati hospital (which belongs to Iranian Revolutionary Guards “sepahe pasdaran “).for 13 days was kept isolated in one room, ( were only 1 doctor and 1 nurse were aware of his presence in hospital ) and then in the dark of the night secretly was transferred to Ministry of Intelligence’s detention in Tabriz .and for 26 days in solitary confinement was opposed to physical and mental tortures.

Then he was kept for 65 days in Tabriz central prison’s Quarantine section and after that on 2009, 09, 02 on a 50 million Tomans( 40,783 $ ) bail was released.
On 2009 , 11 , 10 in the 3-rd branch of Tabriz’s Engelab court, Fardin was tried and on 2009 , 11 , 19 was imposed to 6 years of Imprisonment .his lawyers on 2009 , 11 , 21 protested the verdict and requested revision .on 2010 , 02, 02 4-rd branch of the revision court , approved the previous court’s verdict and declared the verdict to be final.

Charges attributed to Fardin:
1. Supplying and storing explosives;
2. Gathering and conspiring to commit crimes against national security;
3. Propaganda against the government.

On 2010 , 06 , 16 for passing his condemnation returns to prison and for around 22 months was kept in triple ward ( a section for drug smugglers and addicts and thieves )of Tabriz central prison in a very harsh condition and isolated from other conscience prisoners.

Fardin’s father and mother also , each for 16, 21 days were kept in Ministry of Intelligence’s detention in Tabriz in solitary condition and was opposed to physical and mental tortures. Morteza fardin’s brother was also , captured in that year and was sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment .during this period due to lack of doctors in Tabriz’s central prison and incorrect prescription of glasses, his glasses lens’s number differed from 1.5 to 5.3.

Fardin MoradPour, Azerbaijan’s civil rights activist , who because of writing several letters and requests for implementation of internal regulation of prisons in Iran (which is about classifying prisoners based on length and kind of their condemnation and penal background) has been severally beaten and insulted from prison officers, “specially from someone called Rezazade (main beater ) “ .from 2012,10,03 in protest against this savage behavior he has begun hunger strike(no food and no drinks ) and is intended to definitely establishing a court for trialing the beaters and answering his legal requests.

Number 7 ward of the prison that Fardin MoradPour has recently been moved there, is overcrowded more than its true standard capacity and right now a lot of prisoners are sleeping on the floor, drugs are obviously dealt and is being used trough shared needles . And there is a great risk of Hepatitis and HIV transmission to other prisoners of the ward.

Right now this young activist of Azerbaijan is suffering from intense eye and heart diseases and conditions. Until now two Signature campaigns for releasing Fardin MoradPour has been organized and tractor and esteglal’s match on 2012, 10, 20 is called in his name.
