Every state EXCEPT Vermont got approved for Extended Unemployment Benefits! THOUSANDS of families are being horribly affected by this unfair decision made ultimately by President Obama just because our unemployment rate didn't meet the government's standards.
We are the ONLY state being robbed by this decision! There are whole families WITH children going HOMELESS because of this decision! With our current unemployment rate, we need this measure just as much as the next state - which is getting it! WHY NOT US???
We, the undersigned, call upon the United States Government to allow us, THE STATE OF VERMONT, to receive the same extended unemployment benefits that all of the other states in the US have been granted.
We deserve to be treated with the same dignity and respect that ALL of the other states are receiving.
