The Australian Parliament has announced that in July, foreign students will be allowed into Australia to live, work and study. Meanwhile all international travel is banned indefinitely to people living in Australia. July 2021 has been mentioned as a possible date for travel to resume, as has July 2022.
Many people reading this are dual nationals, with family living in their home country, thousands of miles away. The prospect of having to wait possibly 2 years before we can see our loved ones is quite unbearable. Now - with the government opening its borders to foreign students - the situation is intolerable.
Many international airlines are already offering flights out of Australia to various destinations. Yet you will not be allowed to board these flights.
If students have to quarantine for 2 weeks on entry to Australia, why can't the same quarantine requirements be imposed on those of us who wish to leave and return to Australia? Even at a personal cost, many would agree to this in order to connect with family who are sick, dying, getting married etc.
If we have passports for other countries - why are they meaningless? We have rights, just like anyone else. Our freedom has been taken away, We are prisoners on this island continent . Australia is no longer a day away - its a world away.
I urge you to sign this petition. Numbers count ! Please share this on any platform you can and lets take it to Parliament. We need thousands upon thousands of signatures to be even heard, It doesn't matter what country you originally came from. We are all in the same boat. Being denied our human rights.

We, the undersigned call on the Australian Government to remove the International travel ban for people with dual nationality, thus allowing travel to and from their home countries.
