Everton FC Supporters Group against the use of the new crest for 2013/14 season

After a huge fan backlash against the new club crest, Everton Football Club released a statement on On 28th May 2013 stating that they aoffer a sincere apology for not consulting us, 'the fans' in the consultation of changing the biggest entity symbol that the club has.
More than 22,000 people signed a petition urging the Blues to have a rethink.
Club CEO Robert Elstone has stated “We want to put this right. Whilst the time-constraints of kit suppliers in particular present challenges, which inevitably means the version released on Saturday will be in operation for the 2013/14 season, we are determined to give our fans a greater say in how we represent the club on our jerseys, at Goodison Park and across media around the world.
What Mr Elstone is saying is wrong! All the club simply have to do is run with our former crest and delay the new Nike kit launch by a matter of weeks allowing us 'the fans' (that the club apparently care so passionately about) to have our former crest reinstated for the upcoming campaign until the fans can be consulted and a new crest is in place for the 2014/15 season as the club have planned.

As the fans of Everton Football Club we simply do not want the new crest to be representing our football club for the upcoming 2013/14 season.
We urge you to delay any upcoming kit and marketing launch with Nike allowing our former crest to be reinstated for one last campaign allowing us 'the fans' to be consulted in the creation of a new crest for the 2014/15 season.
The new crest is an embarrassment to our club and we feel even for one season, this crest does not do our great club justice and we demand that we run with our former crest for the upcoming season.
