Target:
Executive Branch of U.S. Government
Region:
United States of America

The life's of a lot of people in our country are affected by mistakes that they've made. The mistakes that are being referred to here are legal mistakes. Mistakes that get you felonies. People get into trouble with the law and they get charged with a felony. They have to keep that felony for so long to get it expunged and even then you might not get it expunged.

They should be able to have the same opportunities as anyone else. They can't get just any felony expunged. They should be able to get any felony expunged after a period of time. They can't get jobs or certain housing. They should have the same rights as anyone if they have complied with society after their felony.

Equal rights for everybody.

Everybody makes mistakes. Some are worse than others. Does that mean that they should carry a label for their mistakes. No. Equal housing and employment rights for felons are necessary.

If someone makes a mistake they should be punished. But they shouldn't be punished for the rest of their life if the did their time, paid their fees, and learned from their mistakes.

We, the undersigned, want equal rights for felons.
