The health care system is not transparent. 1 person (Dr. Metten) Plays God and decides who gets proper health care and who does not. Money is wasted to pay car-rentals for dutch doctors to drive around with dogs in there cars and lay on the beach. Pregnant women have to spread their legs every 3 months in front of a new gynecologist.
As of July 1st physiotherapy and dental care is no longer covered in the health care package. those that can afford it, can't get additional health insurance. We are send to Colombia for advanced medical treatment, but doctors from Colombia are not allowed to practice medicine here, only dutch doctors. ZVK decides what doctor we are allowed to go to or not. Those are just a few examples of the mess called general medical care on the BES islands.
This was not what was promised to the people of the islands. no more talking, no more research, no more commissions for advise. WE want change NOW!
No more talks! It's time for Action NOW!
We demand:
1. Dr Metten MUST GO NOW.
2. Equal health care for everyone on the island of Bonaire, Saba and Statia Dutch Caribbean, & transparency in the system!
