Thank You Everyone for signing the petition. It was successful in adding pressure on MAAC to change the 4klm rule! Congratulations!!
However...Since Clair Murray (ZD for zone "L" ) continues to make his own rules.. He refuses to except this rule and will NOT sanction our secondary field. He would much rather let 60 members be without a field than to hurt the feeling of his personal friend Richard Byers the president of the Beeton Club. Richard feels that safety is the issue with regards to a 2.4 club being so near. He is trying to protect the 6 members of the pond that we would be moving near. Thats it!! 6 members that fly on the pond at any given time. One of the members is my father, a second is his best friend, and 3 other members all being members of my club(SMAC) All of them where never even asked if they would mind if the SMAC club where to move near their pond.
The True issue hear is..A president that does not care so much about his members, as he does giving up CONTROL. This combined with his buddy Clair Murray that only uses the rules when they are in HIS favor. Also a person I feel is obsessed with power.
To the two of them I say...Way to go!! You two have done more to destroy and remove the fun from model aircraft flying and comeradery than all of the bad apples that have come before you in the history of MAAC

This petition is to show the MAAC Executive that many MAAC members in Zone L have lost confidence in our current ZD Clair Murray. Clair has has been given a large amount of time(since April 14th) by SMAC(Simcoe Model Aircraft Club) members to resolve our issue with SMAC trying to have a field sanctioned(Everette Field) as a 2.4 only, Secondary field within the 4klm MAAC rule of the Beeton Flyers Pond(secondary field) that has only 8 regular members flying. The distance between the clubs is 2.5klm. Clair has continued to sweep this matter under the rug and hopes for it to go away if he ignores us long enough.
I the president of SMAC, have never been given a written letter as to why he continues to ignore this issue. I have even received a signed Frequency agreement from the president of the Beeton Club only to have the President renege on the agreement after conferring with Clair Murray.
The SMAC club will no longer be able to fly on its Primary field(a sod field) as of Aug 14th 2012 approx.
We the members of MAAC and the Simcoe Model Aircraft Club, urge the MAAC Executive to take action to over rule Clair Murray.
We request that MAAC Executive, Sanction the Everette field as SMAC's Secondary field to be used only as 2.4
