Background (Preamble):
Since the start of the Iraq war the Army has invoked the "Stop Loss" clause in their contracts on scores of Army personnel. Stop Loss forces soldiers to stay on active duty even after they have satisfactorily served their commitment to the, military, in effect holding them hostage against their will.
Stop Loss is nothing more than a back door draft tactic, and needs to be stopped.
If the Army is unable to maintain sufficient numbers through conventional recruiting measures, then they need to re-institute the draft.

We, the undersigned, call on the President of the United States, and the Secretary of Defense, to take immediate action to put an end to the, United States Army's policy of "Stop Loss".
