Ladies and Gentleman, it's time to stop the petition. The conditions at the mountain have become far too unsafe to attempt to send the capsule down. The drilled portions of the mine are filling with mud at a rate of 5 feet per hour. It is time to stop and let the families begin to grieve. Thank you to all who fought for the miners. May they rest in peace, and may The Lord bring comfort to the families.
Background (Preamble):
6 Miners are trapped, and have been since August 6, 2007. It is known that underground rescue can not be completed as the mine is far too unstable.

On August 21, the officials have stated they will stop rescue and recovery attempts shortly. This is unacceptable as the mine will be sealed, and the men with it.
Petition:
Dear Sirs,

It is with a desperate plea we come to you. We are asking for your assistance in both placing and drilling the 36" bore hole, or explaining in comprehensible terms the reason this can not be done.

We ask that you hear the voices of America. We ask that you help the families get closure, in whatever form that may be. We are aware that the outcome might not be the best, but strongly feel any outcome is better than never knowing what might have been.

Please assist the families in this dire and desperate attempt. Please assist America with understanding.
