Patricia De Lille has recommended that the freedom of the city award goes to Barack Obama and his wife. The last time I checked, Cape Town was against apartheid, the Obamas openly condones apartheid in the Palestine/Israel saga and makes countless excuses for their part of ongoing war in the middle east affecting civilians and many children.
This freedom of the city award should be of integrity and inspiration and by no means should we allow our beautiful Cape Town to hold an award in the name of the Obamas. This is our Cape Town, our South Africa ... Say no to condoning apartheid and war brutality and say yes to not allowing our country to award the Obamas.
