This is a new community. It was converted from rental apartments to condos in 2005. When the units sold, the prices for homes were at their peak, and many of the original homeowners have lost a considerable amount of their home value over the last few years. As the property values go down and the economy gets worse, there have been more foreclosures. In our own complex, we have had several foreclosures.
During these unpredictable times, it is important not to raise the already high HOA dues. The dues have increased two years in a row already at an average rate of 3.25%. This kind of increase once in a while is needed, but our dues are near $400 for some units, this is too high. The HOA dues are dues that are not voluntary. All homeowners must pay these dues.
There has never been community involvement in the form of surveying homeowners and as a result, we are sharing our thoughts in this petition.
By signing this petition: I agree that I am either a Home Owner in the Montierra Community located in Hayward, CA and I pay Home Owners Association Dues.
This Petition is a reflection of the People that pay Dues to Montierra/Clarendon Hills HOA. We the people believe that the current monthly dues are very high and we do not want the dues to increase.
We the people respectfully submit our signatures as we agree that the increase in HOA Dues are excessive and we Petition against them in request that the fees are not increased for the year 2009.
