We oppose the opening of Forest Drive to Network Drive in Cecil Township.
Such connection would cause an unnecessary increase in traffic, a potential decrease of property values, the potential inability to market and sell our homes and an increased concern of residents and children's safety. Along with the above, such a connection would create an unnecessary degradation and alteration of the neighborhoods environment and well being.
Increased traffic would cause increased road deterioration causing tax payers money to repair, increased noise levels especially during rush hour and an increase in non residential travel through this "access" road.
It is unrealistic to predict the volume of traffic that would utilize this access. There are already several access points onto Network Drive. It is unnecessary to create another "short cut" for convenience of a few minutes time.
We, the undersigned residents and taxpayers of the Apple Hill Plan of Canonsburg, PA, in conjunction with the residents and tax payers of the Alto Piano Plan of Cecil Township, do hereby petition the Canonsburg Government - Council and Borough Management to deny the request to open Forest Drive to allow access to the Alto Piano Plan via Network Dr., which is located in Cecil Township.
We hold that it is the desire of the majority that this connection not be completed and that the opposition already had the ability to voice their concerns in 2010 which was public knowledge and notification was posted on the Canonsburg Wesbite, Local Newspapers and word of mouth.
