Background (Preamble):
BUSINESS DONE IN THE NAME OF ANIMAL CONSERVATION.
Very recently I had a tour to Sri Lanka and went and saw the Pinnawela elephant orphanage. On my way back, I had the opportunity to visit another place closeby maintained by Maximus Pvt Ltd.
According to them they say that they are animal rights activists. However, I feel they exploit these old animals and earn their living.
The other incident was the elephant polo sport that is now popular in Bentota Beach Area. This is promoted by another britisher, Mr. Dobbs, who is trying to popularise his hotels and there is no love toward the animal.
Please consider these things and prohibit businesses done in the name of conservation.
