In light of recent tragic events and ongoing concerns, it is imperative to our children's safety to have a crossing guard at the busy intersection of Foxhurst Road and Harvey Avenue. This area has been historically plagued with speeding, failure to yield to pedestrians, and 'rolling through' stop signs. During school pedestrian hours, parents and children should feel safe using this intersection.
We, the undersigned, call on the Nassau County Police Department to assign a crossing guard at the intersection of Foxhurst Road and Harvey Avenue in Oceanside, New York.
