Thank you for caring about the community! It turns out that VDOT will be installing a cross light at Zion and 123 in the spring! I had called the Board of Supervisors in the fall and raised the problem. I called a last week and was told that I should bring petitions with me to the February Board meeting to convince them to fund this project. What I didn’t know was that my contact at the Board of Supervisors had contacted VDOT, and they had already decided upon funding the project.
I collected over 200 signatures (including paper petitions) over the course of 5 days, which is amazing and it is because you went to my page and helped make it happen. Small tokens of caring can make big difference!
NOTE: if you posted the GoPetition link on Facebook or another social media site, please take it off. :-)
There is no crossing light at the intersection of Zion Road and Route 123. The pedestrian path that crosses there is very popular, used by many adults and children in our community. The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors will be making decisions about pedestrian safety projects at their February meeting.
Please sign the petition below to show your support for the installation of a crossing signal at this intersection. Thank you for caring and helping make Fairfax County more safe, fun, and accessible for everyone.
We, the undersigned, support the installation of a pedestrian crossing signal for the pedestrian path along Route 123 where it crosses Zion Road.
The Crosswalk at Zion Rd. and Route 123 petition to Fairfax County Board of Supervisors was written by Mikey McCabe and is in the category Local Government at GoPetition.
