In 2012 the United Kingdom Government announced the creation of a High Street Fund which will provide 12 high streets in England the chance to win a share of £1million.
The idea was launched by Mary Portas who was commissioned by the UK Government to look at how to revive the local high street.
Today we call on the Scottish Government to create a similar fund.

We, the undersigned, call on the Scottish Government to create a Scottish High Street Fund to revive our local high streets, where as many as 1 in 4 premises are vacant.
We also call on local authorities across Scotland to work with the Scottish Government to protect the high street and help small businesses in times of austerity.
