On Tuesday July 26th, 2011 eight couches were placed within what is now known as the North Lounge of Brookdale, formally the Brookdale Cafeteria. They were meant to create a more enjoyable environment for residents in the lounge, which serves as one of three available air-conditioned areas.
Students/Residents instantly took to them and were happy to see a change that awarded them an extra comfort; more importantly a change that helped them deal with the difficult and hot nature of living in Brookdale over the summer.
As of the morning of Wednesday July 27th, the Office of Facilities Management & Planning of Brookdale Campus removed all eight couches. These couches though in decent condition have been designated trash. Instead of serving to better Brookdale Campus these couches will be disposed of and wasted.
This petition is meant to persuade the Office of Facilities Management & Planning of Brookdale Campus to replace the couches to the North Lounge by showing that students/residents feel strongly about these couches being there.
We, the undersigned, call on the Office of Facilities Management & Planning to replace the eight removed couches in the North Lounge.
