EC has denied a common Symbol for Praja Rajyam party. In India where 50% of electorate are rural and illiterate an Election Symbol is most crucial factor, which often determines the election results in one way or the other.
While the rule book does state what is the eligibility for a party to get common Symbol. I feel that Common sense should prevail and a party with a such Huge support base Amongst youth should be provided a Common Symbol.
Through this Online petition we urge EC to re visits its decision and provide a Common Symbol for PRP. Member registration of PRP is close 50L eligible voters. Hurdles like these will only make it difficult for people to get interested in Politics.
