The Collier County Comissioners have agreed the Adoption Services of DAS is important enough to keep funding through 2010, but the Das 'ADOPTION' program is not stated in the agencies Mission Statement.
This fact leaves the program vulnerable and can still be subject to elimination.
It is imperative to get the DAS Advisory Board to vote YES to add the word 'ADOPTION' and approve this amendment on August 18, 2009.
THE COLLIER COUNTY DOMESTIC ANIMAL SERVICES MISSION STATEMENT REQUIRES AN AMENDMENT TO INCLUDE THE ADOPTION SERVICES.
WE REQUEST THE BOARD TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING RECOMMENDATION AND AMEND THE CURRENT WORDING IN THE MISSION STATEMENT TO INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
“THAT WE PROMOTE THE HUMANE TREATMENT, ADOPTION AND RESPONSIBLE OWNERSHIP OF ALL ANIMALS.”
