Residents of Clint, TX, former residents of Clint, TX, as well as concerned friends and family oppose the construction of the Abraham Lincoln Transitional Lodge in or near the town of Clint. These concerned parties assert such a facility will negatively affect the town.
They believe the town does not have the infrastructure for a facility of this size in its vicinity. They also assert this facility will negatively impact the town's economy while it's in use and once it's vacated. The concerned citizens also maintain such a facility is not consistent with the small town character the town of Clint would like to preserve.
Finally, these citizens worry that having so many residents in such a facility will have negative consequences to the health and well being of the residents of Clint.
We, the undersigned, call on the Department of Health and Human Services to reject the current application and any future applications that may be submitted to build the Abraham Lincoln Transitional Lodge or any other detention facility housing multitudes of people in or near the town of Clint, TX.
